Although these spaces are not huge, to most of us, they are !!! You can still get great idea's from larger spaces. The shelf off the island for extra space to eat or homework...brilliant ! You don't have a hallway lined with cubbies? Make a smaller version in ANY room. The last picture, I love how they used the corner for the shower..saves lots of rooms !!!
It's that time of the year to think about our outdoor spaces, I know some of you lucky people live outdoors year round... I love how they used this outdoor potting table for a instant breakfast bar...look at ALL your things differently, you never know what you'll come up with !!!
Having a small space, a lot of times when looking at decor pictures, I'm more excited to see how people store things then the actual look of the room. I love new ways to think about how we keep our things. I like the above pictures and how they show new ways to think about storage. Who says a tv has to sit on a tv stand ?
We have a major winter storm headed my way so white will probably be the "color" I will be seeing a lot of ...These small white rooms are stunning. Stay safe everyone...a lot of us will be "riding the storm out"....
Before you bring stuff into your already small space, look around and see what you already have first. Grandma's teapot just sitting around? Put some pretty flowers in it! Tight fit for a bedside table? Grab a chair! Decor does not always have to be expensive to be beautiful !
Just because your place is small does not mean you can't make a impact with your design. People often make the mistake of not using larger pieces, thinking it will take up too much space. Not true !!
I would love to hear about your personal tips for storage and/or making your kitchen feel bigger. For me, I use a two tiered plate rack on my counter, right by the stove. It frees up a lot of cabinet space and is so handy to serve food right off the stove. Also I replaced big wooden kitchen chairs for low modern ones. It makes the space feel much roomier. How about you !?!?
I've always like "different" things in my house and storing them is no acception. These are fun ways to show off your stuff. Top 2 from Viva Terra, bottom 2, Pottery Barn.
